Our Roots and Wings Program for children has two components. One is our Roots and Wings Nursery for infants to 4-year-old children. The second is our Roots and Wings Sunday School for children 4+ through to 10 years of age.

The children gather in the Roots and Wings Room on Sunday mornings at 10 am. While the children participate in the Nursery and the Sunday School programs, adults worship in the church. Children join their family members for Holy Communion. Following which we all come together for fellowship and refreshments in the Parish Hall.
Children who attend the Roots and Wings Program enjoy a safe, welcoming environment where they experience God’s love through faith based stories, prayer, play, creative activities and relationships. The work of childhood is play, and through play children learn life’s lessons and values. At St. Luke’s we use experience and activities to teach our lesson. The lesson we teach is that God loves each one of us, and we share that love with each other. Our goal is to play, to learn, to explore, to enjoy, and to live to the fullest what is taught. To experience God’s love and to share that love is awesome!
The children and their leaders invite you to join them.
Please encourage your friends to come along.
There is no need to pre-register.
See you on Sunday!
Coordinators are Amanda Sneddon and Daphne Thomas
We also offer a Montessori-inspired program, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, on Sundays at 3:30 pm. Children are welcomed to a specially prepared space called an ‘atrium,’ with beautiful hand made materials to work with and enjoy as a way of encountering the divine. The program is run by Jennifer Camfield, who has over 15 years experience in this method.
